What does it take to drive 100,000 visitors to your blog? What about turning each of those visitors into 100,000 loyal subscribers?
For many marketers, just getting 100,000 visitors to a website seems impossible — never mind figuring out how to entice them to become active email subscribers.
But with the right process and strategy in place, the challenge becomes a little bit easier to tackle. Here’s what you need to keep in mind to grow your blog readership:
Determine who your audience actually is. The type of people you’re attracting to your blog should be the same type of people in your industry who will buy your products and services. If these two groups of people are different, it’s probably time to revisit your buyer personas.
Once you understand who your readers are and what they care about, do some keyword research and determine what it is they’re searching for on Google. These niche phrases and long-tail keywords will help you come up with blog post topics for a week, a month, or even a year. As you’re writing posts based on your research, remember to optimize the post for humans, too! For example, maybe embedding a SlideShare presentation about your niche topic will perform better than embedding an infographic.
Once you’ve figured out your buyer personas and you’ve entered into a publishing routine, you’ll want to turn those casual readers into avid email subscribers.
